Solomon Software Releases Full Suite of e-Business
Module in Singapore
Solomon Desktop Allows Immediate Access to Key Business
Information Anytime, Anywhere for Solomon IV Users
Singapore – July 28, 2000 – Solomon Software South East
Asia Pte Ltd, a leading provider of mid-market business management and
e-business software, today announced the general availability of Solomon
Desktop, a browser-based portal that provides employees and business partners
secure access anytime and anywhere to 100 percent of the capabilities of
Solomon IV®. Solomon Desktop brings an integrated, personalized view of Solomon
IV to an individual’s desktop and enables better decision-making by providing
immediate access to key business information.
Solomon Desktop is designed to be on every desktop
and embraces the 95 percent of the workforce that would not traditionally
interact with Solomon IV applications. The browser-friendly interface addresses
Business-to-Employee and Business-to-Business situations by facilitating direct
access to Web-based applications that are included with the Web Self-Service
Bundle. In addition, users can access any Solomon IV standard or customized
report, or any Solomon IV menu items through a local area network (LAN)
connection, or through a remote connection using Microsoft Windows 2000
Terminal Services (WTS).
The goal of Solomon Desktop is to enable customers
to make e-business everyday business without worrying about the complexities of
the underlying technology,” said Michael Rupe, president of the Solomon
business unit. “There is no question that businesses need the ability to do
business anytime and anywhere, but at the same time, they don’t want to spend a
fortune to have that capability. Solomon Desktop will save Solomon IV customers
on system administration and training costs, and make them more productive
overall.” Already, Solomon IV customers are embracing Solomon Desktop to make
their businesses more productive.

Available for use with Solomon Desktop is the Web
Self-Service Bundle. The Web Self-Service Bundle is a collection of Web-based
applications that complement Solomon IV by providing Web-specific functions to
many of the Solomon IV modules. Applications in the Web Self-Service Bundle
include Web Employee Inquiry, Web PayrollTime, Web Vendor Inquiry, and Web
Customer Inquiry. Additional applications available later this summer include
Web ProjectTime and Web ProjectExpense.
Solomon Desktop is available immediately for Solomon
IV 4.21 Select (Multi-User) and Premier Editions through authorized Solomon IV
channel partners. Solomon Desktop with 100 named users is priced starting at
$1,400 for Select Edition, and $2,200 for Premier Edition.
