Control That ServerSolomon Software announced the availability of Application Server for Solomon IV. With Application Server, the execution of CPU-intensive reports, processes or transaction imports can be offloaded to other network machines. This enables greater control over where reports, processes and imports execute, whether centralized on the database server, on separate application servers distributed throughout the network, over a WAN (wide area network), or over the Internet. Features for collaboration Users can also choose to schedule reports and processes such as aging, posting and closing at any time so that they recur automatically, letting businesses focus on other tasks. The flexibility of scheduling reduces network traffic and maximizes computing resources, enabling better system performance and employee productivity. In addition, the Application Server can distribute reports via email to those who need them, and users can request reports or the execution of specific processes via email. These email capabilities also make it easier for multisite organizations and remote locations to contribute and collect more timely information for use in decision-making across the company. The Application Server is available immediately for all Solomon IV customers. Pricing starts at $3,000 for Select edition users, and $5,000 for Premier edition users.
