option from Solomon Medium-sized companies looking into outsourcing the management of their business applications such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) can now turn to Solomon Software. Solomon Software South East Asia Pte Ltd’s general manager Laurent Dedenis said its application service provider (ASP) is a contract-based solution that allows users to subscribe to any application software solution providers. For example, users can be connected from their local area network to a software provider located anywhere in the world, including Malaysia and Singapore. The new initiative is designed to help mid-sized organizations in deploying ERP solutions in a cost effective and efficient manner, said Dedenis. It is also aimed at removing information constraints and lowering risks, thus promoting growth and adaptability. “Other advantages of ASP to the local market include providing better and reliable services to customers. In addition, users do not need to use one specific application, but they are free to change from one application to another,” said Dedenis. The company has partnered with software company Citrix Systems and will assist in centralizing the installation, deployment and administration of applications over any platform or client device. With the partnership, Solomon Software provides advanced engineering support. “As soon as the broadband network is established in Malaysia, hopefully between one month and six weeks, organization will be able to benefit from the ASP connection,” said Dedenis. “We are targeting about 30 customers for the ASP solution by end of this year.” |
